The 48V mild hybrid system of Mercedes-Benz is mainly composed of a Belt-driven Starter Generator (BSG) and a 48V battery pack. When the vehicle starts, the BSG quickly starts the engine, reducing the starting delay and vibration, and making the starting process smoother. During driving, the BSG transforms into a generator, recovering the braking energy and storing it in the 48V battery to achieve energy recovery. When accelerating, it can also provide additional power to assist the engine, reducing fuel consumption and emissions, and enhancing the acceleration performance.
